We were required to form a group of two to accomplish this assignment. Basically, this assignment is to analyse one good and bad (in your opinion) design based on visual principles. These principles are visual form, visual harmony, colour and gestalt principles. The sources for the design could come from webpage, poster, magazine advertisement or information brochure. Also, the analysis should explain how the information is organised in the design.

Figure One: Good Design (Wellness Professional Studio)

The following is the overall evaluation of the poster based on Gestalt principles:

• Good use of Gestalt
–Organized
–Simplified
–Unified

• It is also understood by the viewer

Figure One: Bad Design (The Livin Company)

On the whole, our evaluation for The Livin Company's poster is as follows:

Gestalt principles

– Proximity:

1. Balanced proximity BUT too busy

– Good similarity:

1. Color being black and white throughout

2. Drawing lines (Sketch lines) are similar although there are straight lines and curves

Stay happy always!.
